Grand Island Fire Chief Matt Osinski reports the Grand Island Fire Co. is the recipient of the 2016 "Hands in the Community" award through the Mastantuono Allstate Agency. This $1,000 grant will be applied toward training needs for firefighters, medics, new recruits and fire cadets, as well.

Osinski said comprehensive training sessions ensure a state of readiness needed to handle an ever-increasing workload that has already reached 760 emergency incidents to date.

Consequently, Osinski commends the Mastantuono Agency for its longstanding support of the community protection goals of the GIFC.
