Close to 1,000 attendees recently visited the two-day Lewiston Region Tour of Kitchens. Ticketholders had the opportunity to vote on their favorite culinary sample, as well as their favorite tablescapes/décor.
Best in Show winners include:
Best culinary sample went to chef Shawn LeVick of Legends Bar & Grill, located at 241 1st St., in downtown Niagara Falls. LeVick won for his WNY classic roast beef slider with housemade horseradish aioli. The dish is featured on the eatery's newly redesigned menu, along with many other Western New York classic dishes. The winner for the best tablescapes and décor went the home of Marla and Jeffrey Williams of Lewiston, and their decorator, Julie DeAngelo of Bridge Interiors on Grand Island. DeAngelo also teamed up with Adornment, located at 3807 Harlem Road, Cheektowaga, to showcase old heirloom-type furniture transformed into high-fashion accent pieces.
Event coordinator Melissa Morinello said, "The Tour of Kitchens was an another great success. One home was more beautiful than the others. All of the culinary samples were delicious and unique, and the tablescapes and décor wowed the ticketholders. We were thrilled to feature over a dozen local artisans work throughout the homes and at the Barton Hill Hotel in our new pop-up gallery."
The dates for the 2017 Tour of Kitchens are June 3-4.
