The Center for the Arts, University at Buffalo, will present RIOULT Dance NY at 8 p.m. Saturday, April 11, in the Mainstage Theatre (UB North campus). There will be a special pre-performance talk at 7:15 p.m.

Founded in 1994, RIOULT Dance NY fast became an established name in modern dance with a reputation for presenting the sensual, articulate and exquisitely musical works of Pascal Rioult, a former principal dancer with the Martha Graham Dance Company.

RIOULT Dance NY has grown tremendously over the past two decades since its beginning in the New York City apartment of Rioult and Joyce Herring. To date, Rioult has created more than 40 dances, presented 20 New York seasons and toured Europe and North America. His roots in American modern dance, paired with those of Herring, allowed the husband-and-wife team to continue the legacy of the art form in their own right over the next 20 years, and now beyond.

RIOULT Dance NY will be in residence April 6-11. As Western New York's premier presenter of dance, the Center places great emphasis on developing dance audiences in our community and introducing professional dance to children who otherwise might not have the opportunity.

This performance is made possible through a gift from The Bernice Poss Memorial Fund. Bernice L. Poss had a 23-year career with the University at Buffalo. After her death in 1988, the Bernice Poss Award was established to honor her many contributions to the community. Her children have chosen to honor her memory by funding an annual performance.

Tickets for the April 11 public performance are available at the UBCFA box office (weekdays, 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.), and tickets.com. To charge tickets, call 1-888-223-6000. Groups can call 716-645-6771. For more information, call 716-645-2787 or visit www.ubcfa.org or www.rioult.org.
