Begins live at 8 p.m. on ABC from New York's Times Square

Before the ball drops on New Year's Eve, global music sensation Taylor Swift will culminate another record-breaking year with a performance of her hit songs for more than 1 million fans in Times Square live on ABC's telecast of "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2015."

Swift will join the year's top music artists in celebrating the new year during the biggest live music celebration in show history with more than 38 performances and five-and-a-half hours of music.

"Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2015" will air beginning at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 31 beginning at 8 p.m., ET/PT on the ABC Television Network.

The bicoastal celebration will include hours of special performances and reports on celebrations from around the globe, and Seacrest will lead the traditional countdown to midnight from Times Square in New York City as he has for the past nine years.

"Each year, 'New Year's Rockin' Eve' continues its iconic legacy by delivering incredible performances from the year's hottest artists, and this year is no exception," Seacrest said. "We already have secured an unprecedented number of music acts, culminating with a Times Square performance by Taylor, the biggest superstar in music today."

Swift, who writes all of her own songs, is a global superstar and seven-time Grammy winner (the youngest winner in history). She is the first artist since the Beatles (and the only female artist in history) to log six or more weeks at No. 1 in the U.S. with three consecutive studio albums. She has an album on Rolling Stone's prestigious "The 50 Greatest Albums of All Time (by women)" list, Time magazine has named her one of the 100 Most Influential People in the world, and she is Billboard's youngest-ever Woman of the Year and the only artist to have been awarded this honor twice.

Swift has career record sales in excess of 30 million albums and almost 80 million song downloads worldwide, and has had singles top both the pop and country radio charts around the globe. Her album "RED," released almost two years ago on Big Machine Records, has sold more than 6 million copies worldwide to date, including more than 1.2 million copies in the U.S. in its first week, scoring the highest first-week sales debut of any album in more than a decade. Taylor is the only female artist in music history (and just the fourth artist ever) to twice have an album (2010's "Speak Now" and 2012's "RED") hit the 1 million-plus first-week sales figure.

"Shake It Off" is the first single off her critically acclaimed fifth studio album "1989" (Big Machine Records). The single has topped Billboard's Pop, HotAC and Hot 100 charts and has earned double Platinum-status by the RIAA for exceeding sales of 2 million downloads in the U.S. It has peaked at No. 1 in 64 countries on iTunes.
