Duff's Famous Wings at Seneca Buffalo Creek Casino big winners in "Sauce Off" competition

Buffalo is famous for its chicken wings, and now, the Seneca Buffalo Creek Casino has won bragging rights for the best chicken wing sauces in the city. Seneca Buffalo Creek Casino emerged a clear winner with Duff's Famous Wings in the "Restaurant Sauce Off" competition at this year's National Chicken Wing Festival.

Seneca Buffalo Creek Casino, a co-sponsor of the festival, represented Duff's Famous Wings, and made a clean sweep of the traditional sauce categories, winning all three first-place awards. Duff's wings, served at the Seneca Buffalo Creek Casino's Buffalo Savors Grill, won for traditional/medium, hot and extra hot wing sauces.

More than two-dozen local and national restaurants competed in the "Sauce Off."

Jennifer Caruso, general manager of Seneca Buffalo Creek Casino, said, "In a city that lives and thrives on the chicken wing, to have the wings that you serve in your establishment sweep the traditional wing sauce categories at the National Wing Fest is truly a tremendous honor. We are so very proud to proclaim that we serve award-winning Duff's Famous Wings - the blue-ribbon, first-place, Wing-Fest-winning wings in the medium, hot and extra-hot sauce categories."

This year, more than 72,000 people visited Buffalo from all 50 states and representing 54 countries to attend the National Chicken Wing Festival at Coca-Cola Field to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the famous chicken wing. Chicken wing restaurants from as far away as Texas and Arizona came to showcase wings.

Jeff and Kirk Feather, the co-owners of Duff's Famous Wings restaurants, partnered with the Buffalo Creek Casino in 2013 to add a true taste of Buffalo to the Savors Grill Menu.

"We believe in nothing but the highest-quality wings and sauces that are made to perfection and yet don't overpower," Jeff said. "In the battle for the best traditional wing sauce, we realize the competition is fierce and getting tougher all the time, so we couldn't be happier and more gratified to accept all three first-place awards for traditional sauces."

Seneca Buffalo Creek Casino also was the title sponsor for the U.S. Professional Wing Eating Championship, which was broadcast live nationally on ESPN3 on Sunday.

Doni Taube, senior vice president of marketing of Seneca Resorts and Casinos, was caught up in the excitement, helping to award medals to the professional champion wing eaters.

"It has been a spectacular experience for the Seneca Buffalo Creek Casino to co-sponsor this year's Wing Fest, sponsor the champion wing-eating contest, and to take three first-place awards for Duff's Famous Wings," Taube said. "Congratulations to our food and beverage team at Buffalo Creek Casino for their part in cooking up the Duff's Famous Wings that nailed the Sauce Off win. The skilled team at the Buffalo Creek Casino must be recognized for their hard work, energy and enthusiasm that has contributed to the success of another fiery hot wing festival, which has commanded the attention of wing lovers worldwide."

Duff's Famous Wings are one of the many favorite local food offerings in the Buffalo Savors Grill, the signature restaurant at the Buffalo Creek Casino. The award-winning wings are available at the Grill seven days a week.
