Niagara University has announced that Harry Gong, director of admissions, was recently honored by Visit Buffalo Niagara with a Buffalo Ambassador Distinguished Service Award, in recognition of his leadership and service in support of the region's tourism industry.

Gong was honored in light of contributions as chair of the National Association For College Admission Counseling National College Fair in Buffalo. The two-day fair, held annually at the Buffalo Convention Center, brings in more than 200 colleges and universities during the local tourism industry's offseason in March and April.

"Harry has done an excellent job recruiting and overseeing the many volunteers who assist with the National College Fair in Buffalo. In fact, his work has been so impressive that he has been asked to serve on the training committee for those organizing these types of events around the country," said Michael Konopski, Niagara University's dean of enrollment management.

Visit Buffalo Niagara sells and markets assets and attractions to visitors outside of the Buffalo Niagara region as a convention, tourism and leisure destination for the economic benefit of the community.
