Grand Island singers open big concerts in July, August

Two talented Grand Island-native musicians will open for major artists performing in the Niagara County area in coming weeks.

David Nolf, a singer/songwriter who also performs with his popular local band, The David Nolf Band, will open as a solo artist for celebrated recording artists Huey Lewis & The News. The performance takes place July 3 at 6:30 p.m. as part of Artpark's "Tuesday in the Park" concert series.

Tickets cost $5 in advance and $10 the week of the concert. They can be purchased at www.tickets.com, the Artpark Box Office at 450 S. Fourth St., Lewiston, or by calling 1-716-754-4375 or 1-888-223-6000.

The David Nolf Band recently performed in front of 2,000 people opening for Marianas Trench at The Rapids Theater. The band has been touring around with its newly released EP, "The Making Of," which can be found online at iTunes, Rhapsody and Spotify.

Stacy Clark, who earned national attention for her folk-rock albums "Apples and Oranges," "Connect the Dots" and "Patterns," opens for Eddie Money on Friday, July 6, as part of Lockport's Labatt Canal Concert Series. The free show begins at 6 p.m. at the Ulrich City Courtyard, 80 Main St., Lockport.

Clark will open for Roger Hodgson of Supertramp on Aug. 21 at Artpark's "Tuesday in the Park."

Her new video for single "Sign" is now featured on www.mtv.com. This summer, Clark also will be a featured singer/songwriter on XM Sirius' "The Loft" (Channel 30). She was recently part of a Mitsbuishi online commercial along with her song "Lose My Mind," which is available for a free download here: Google Play Free Download.
