Old Falls Street announces additional daily activities for July and August

Features include fitness sessions, kids club, and merchandise vending

Old Falls Street, USA, the historic three-block destination in Downtown Niagara Falls, has announced additional daily activities for the months of July and August, including "Fitness on Old Falls," the Old Falls Street Kids Club, and shops on Old Falls.

"Fitness on Old Falls" features complimentary sessions of Zumba and Pilates, facilitated by instructors from ChrisFit in Niagara Falls. Sessions are held each Monday and Wednesday in July and August, beginning at 5:15 p.m., on Old Falls Street's middle block. Guests are encouraged to bring their own workout gear, as a limited number of mats will be available.

Tuesdays and Wednesdays feature the complimentary Old Falls Street Kids Club, facilitated by members of Deep Roots Niagara, a collection of interactive performance artists who will encourage and entice children of all ages to participate in age-appropriate educational games, physical activities, science and nature projects, arts and crafts, interactive theater, and much more. The Kids Club will be presented on the middle block of Old Falls Street, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day.

"This summer, Old Falls Street will have a built-in audience for its Kids Club, as we are proud to host day-camp participants from the Niagara Falls Boys & Girls Club and Niagara Falls Housing Authority," said Global Spectrum's Ryan Coate, general manager of Old Falls Street, USA, and the Conference and Event Center Niagara Falls. "Other children, either residents of Niagara Falls or visitors to the area, are encouraged to join in on the fun for as long as their schedule allows within that timeframe."

Also new this summer are the shops on Old Falls, a variety of merchandise and food vendors stationed along Old Falls Street, USA, in the repurposed shelters initially erected for the Niagara Holiday Market. Vendors include Kornerstone Coffee, Sparkle! Jewelry & Accessories, Martinsville Emporium, Circle of Life, Elizabeth House, and Barker's Chocolates. The shops on Old Falls are contracted to be open each Thursday through Saturday in July and August, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., and each Sunday in July and August, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Vendors have the option to open earlier or close later according to their own discretion.

"We are happy to welcome back these wonderful vendors who were encouraged to spend the summer with us after they experienced a profitable time on Old Falls Street last winter," Coate said. "They were also featured during Old Falls Street's 'Side Show' celebrating Nik Wallenda's tightrope walk over Niagara Falls."

These heightened activities compliment Old Falls Street, USA's continuous daily activities that began on Memorial Day and run through Labor Day.
