The Village of Lewiston Recreation Department and the Lewiston Museum invite the public to an encore showing of historic photos of Lewiston's citizens. Last fall, this collection of more than 120 photos was shown in the Red Brick Municipal Building. The Recreation Department is thrilled to be able to do an encore presentation of " People of Lewiston" on Sunday, April 29, from noon to 4 p.m. in the Red Brick gym, located at North Fourth and Onondaga streets.

There is no admission charge. The show is sponsored by the Village of Lewiston Recreation Department with the collaboration of the Historical Association of Lewiston. It takes place during the Recreation Department's annual "Spring Fling."

This show is wonderful for past and present residents of the area. Some of the photos have been in private collections and not available to view before. The people photos are very interesting. Even though our focus is the citizen of Lewiston, there are also photos of Artpark in its construction. People who viewed the photos in the fall found them to be very informative and entertaining.

Pam Hauth, executive director of the Lewiston Museum, says, "The Historical Association and the Lewiston Museum are pleased to share some of our photos at the Spring Fling. They are a wonderful source of information - and they say a picture is worth a thousand words."

It is rare that such a large display of photos is available to the general public. This look into Lewiston allows residents and visitors to Lewiston to see what is remembered from the past, appreciate what was there, and gain an insight to the present Lewiston.

The show is free and open to the public. For further information, call the Recreation Department at 716-754-1990.
