Maziarz selected for CSG/ERC'S energy and environment committee

State Sen. George Maziarz, R-C-Newfane, today announced that he has recently been appointed by Senate Majority Leader Dean Skelos to serve on The Council of State Governments/Eastern regional Conference's Energy and Environment Committee from 2012 through 2013.

"As a member of the CSG/ERC energy and environment committee, I look forward to working with my regional colleagues on key policy issues that will promote a robust energy economy for the citizens in my district and for all of New York state," Maziarz said. "Committee membership provides a unique networking opportunity for me to share ideas and insights with my counterparts from throughout the northeast region and bring best practices and resources to my constituents."

CSG/ERC is a non-profit, non-partisan organization located in New York City since 1937. It serves legislative, executive and judicial branch officials in 11 northeastern states, as well as the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and five eastern Canadian provinces. Its mission is to promote successful state policy innovations, foster multi-jurisdictional problem solving, advocate for regional interests at the federal level, offer leadership training and technical assistance, and forecast policy trends that affect the northeast.

CSG/ERC's policy staff supports the three branches of state government through nine areas of special concern to the region. These include agriculture, criminal justice, economic development, education, energy and environment, fiscal affairs, health care, transportation and U.S.-Canada relations.
