Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center will celebrate the delivery of the latest in surgical technology to Niagara County during an open house and hands-on demonstration of the da Vinci Si Surgical System on Tuesday, March 6.

The open house will take place from noon to 6 p.m. in the medical center's first floor auditorium. During that time, a representative from Intuitive Surgical Inc., the da Vinci System's manufacturer, will be on hand to demonstrate the system's advanced capabilities and offer attendees a chance to take it for a "test drive."

A highlight of the open house will be a 1 p.m. program at which Dr. Donna Feldman, Dr. Mark Falvo and Dr. Brian Rambarran, surgeons who are participating in the medical center's minimally invasive robotic surgery program, will discuss how it will benefit patients in the specialty areas of gynecological, urological and colorectal surgery. The judges for Memorial's Name the Robot contest - Niagara Gazette Publisher Peter Mio and robotics students from Gaskill Preparatory School - also will be in attendance.

The event is free. Light refreshments will be served. For more information, call 278-4569.
