Parenti ponders run at Niagara County Democratic Committee chairmanship

Active local Democratic Party organizer and businessperson Gary D. Parenti offered the following statement Saturday regarding press inquiries into whether he intends to seek the chairmanship of the Niagara County Democratic Committee:

"I am a proud, lifelong Democrat, and dismayed by the current direction of our party here in Niagara County. For that reason, I am in consultations with a number of prominent local Democratic Party leaders and am very seriously weighing a candidacy for the privilege of chairing our great party here in Niagara County. I still need time to evaluate that candidacy, but will make an announcement soon. No matter what, though, our party cannot continue on its current course. Too many working men and women, too many families, too many powerless members of society have been left without voices in our local government, and it's time for that to change."
