Niagara Career and Tech Ed Center inducts 10 into honor society

The Niagara Career and Technical Education Center recently held an induction ceremony for 10 students invited into the National Technical Honor Society. The Orleans/Niagara BOCES students were: Chelsey Amacher, Starpoint, in the cosmetology program; Courtney Arber, Niagara Falls, in the heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration program; Brad Becken, Starpoint, in the heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration program; Stephanie Demmin, Wilson, in the security and law enforcement program; Esther Ekong, Christian Academy/Lockport, in the fashion design program; John Hudson Jr., Niagara Falls, in building trades; Courtney Karpie, Starpoint, in the health occupations technician program; Linda Kroening, Starpoint, in the cosmetology program; Marco Notaro, Niagara-Wheatfield, in the project-based engineering program; and Alissa Portik, Niagara-Wheatfield, in the EMS program.

The National Technical Honor Society is the highest award that can be given for excellence in career and technical education. Students must have a grade point average of 3.0 and have completed a certain amount of credit hours. The requirements also include excellent attendance and an excellent disciplinary record.
