Katie Couric to co-host 'LIVE! with Regis and Kelly' on Oct. 11

ABC News journalist, best-selling author, popular television personality and soon-to-be daytime talk show host Katie Couric will fill in for Regis Philbin next to Kelly Ripa on Tuesday, Oct. 11. On the morning talker, Couric will join Ripa in welcoming guests Dylan McDermott ("American Horror Story") and Anna Torv ("Fringe"). Couric will also share her mom's pear and Jell-O recipe as part of "Co-Host Cook-Off Week."

Couric's new, nationally syndicated talk show, "Katie," will premiere in September 2012. Disney-ABC Domestic Television will distribute the highly anticipated one-hour daily daytime show.

An exciting and varied lineup of guest co-hosts will join Emmy-winning host Ripa this October on "LIVE! with Regis and Kelly," filling in for Philbin on the top morning talk show.

  • Oct. 7: Fashion guru and "Dancing with the Stars" cast member Carson Kressley will kick off his dancing shoes for a day to sit with Ripa at the co-host desk.
  • Oct. 10: Actor and comedian Larry The Cable Guy will make his first co-hosting appearance on "LIVE."
  • Oct. 12: Kelly will be joined by former New York Giants player and "Fox NFL Sunday" broadcaster Michael Strahan.
  • Oct. 13: Actor Jerry O'Connell will take a break from preparations for his new Broadway production to sit beside Ripa at the co-host desk.
  • Oct. 14: "Royal Pains" star Mark Feuerstein swaps the guest seat for the co-host chair next to Ripa for the first time.
  • Oct. 21: Multi-platinum singer-songwriter Josh Groban returns to the "LIVE" studio as Ripa's co-host.
  • Oct. 31: Nick Lachey, singer and host of "The Sing-Off." has the choice assignment of co-hosting with Ripa during one of "LIVE! with Regis and Kelly's" most talked-about traditions: its renowned Halloween spectacular. In years past, the hosts have worn dozens of elaborate costumes and portrayed some of the most famous and infamous names in pop culture, and this year will be no exception.
