Mayor Robert G. Ortt has announced the City of North Tonawanda will dedicate a park bench in honor and memory of LCPL Timothy G. Serwinowski, a U.S. Marine and North Tonawanda native, who was killed in action on June 21, 2010, in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. The dedication will be held on Saturday, May 28, at 11 a.m. in Veteran's Park on River Road.
Ortt met with Serwinowski's parents last year in an effort to honor the fallen solider.
"I met with LCPL Serwinowski's parents, Sally and Phil, and they wanted to have a park bench dedicated to their son. I felt that it would be fitting to have it placed in front of the Marines memorial over in Veterans Park," Ortt said.
