Lutheran Basketball Association: St. Mark edges St. James

Men's League Week 13

Holy Ghost 63, St. Paul 30

Joe Meyer led Holy Ghost with a game high of 19 points, including five 3-pointers. Shane Marsh chipped in 13 points and Bob Britton added 10 points.

Billy Stephan topped St. Paul with 12 points.

St. Mark 65, St. James 58

Weston Shapiro led St. Mark with 26 points, including 14 points in the second half. Andy Fretthold chipped in 21 points, including 17 points in the first half. Kevin Fretthold added 14 points, including 12 points in the second half.

Justin DeVantier topped St. James with 16 points. Brian Milleville tossed in 13 points, and his bother Bill Milleville added 11 points.

Week 14

St. Mark 51, St. Paul I 41

Andy Fretthold led St. Mark with a game high of 16 points. Weston Shapiro chipped in 13 points. Kevin Fretthold added 15 points.

Jeff Broecker Jr. topped St. Paul with 13 points. Dan Wilczek added 12 points.

St. Matthew 68, St. Paul II 46

Wally Wieniewski led St. Matthew with a game high of 16 points. Ryan Essenburg chipped in 13 points.  Andy Knoell and Pat Kenney added 10 points each.

Bill Stephan topped St. Paul with game scoring honors of 21 points, including 11 points in the second half. Brian Hapeman, player coach, added 9 points, all on three-pointers.

Week 15

St. Mark 61, St. Peter's, Sanborn 53

Weston Shapiro led St. Mark to victory with 28 points, including 13-17 from the foul line. Kevin Fretthold tossed in 14 points.

Shawn Haseley topped St. Peter's with 24 points. Jarred Hebeler tossed in 12 points.

St. John 75, St. Paul II 56

Josh Kroening led St. John with game scoring honors of 26 points, including 14 points in the second half. Tim Finiki tossed in 19 points, including 11 points in the second half. Dan Weiss added 10 points.

Micah Puscheck topped St. Paul with 18 points. Billy Stephan added 16 points.

St. Matthew 60, St. James 57

Former North Tonawanda star Mike Ridge led St. Matthew with 24 points, including 18 points in the second half. Justin Hromowyk chipped in 13 points. Andy Knoell added 10 points.

Bill Milleville topped St. James with 22 points, including 15 points in the second half. Brad Milleville and Justin DeVantier added 10 points each.

Women's League Week 3

St. Mark 54, St. Paul 45

Liz Waston led St. Mark with 32 points. Erin Strassburg netted in 12 points.

Stacy Hildreth topped St. Paul with 17 points.

St. Mary's 53, Chapel 46

Marissa Sirianni led St. Mary's with 17 points. Ashley Friday chipped in 14 points and Patrina Leo added 12 points in the victory.

Tae Freeman topped Chapel with a game high of 20 points.

Holy Ghost/St. James 55, St. Matthew 20

Angela Hastings and Janelle Ventura led Holy Ghost/St. James to victory, each with 13 points. Michelle Lyman chipped in 12 points. Stephanie Schmidt added 10 points.

Janet Finley topped St. Matthew with 10 points.

Week 4

St. Mary's 32, Teachers 28

Former Niagara-Wheatfield star Megan Hathaway led St. Mary's to victory with 9 points.

Jen Bandlian topped Teachers, also with 9 points.

Holy Ghost/St. James 30, St. Paul 28

Former Niagara-Wheatfield star Janelle Ventura led Holy Ghost/St. James with 10 points.

Chapel 62, St. Mark 38

Sam Hutchins had game scoring honors for Chapel with 23 points. Tae Freeman added 21 points.

Liz Waston topped St. Mark with 18 points.

Week 5

St. Mark 45, Teachers 39

Chrissy Fretthold had game scoring honors for St. Mark with 19 points. Hannah Crouch chipped in 14 points.

Julie Murray topped Teachers with 11 points and Kelly Africaro chipped in 10 points.

Chapel 44, Holy Ghost/St. James 39

Tae Freeman had the game high of 15 points for Chapel. Angela Churchhill chipped in 12 points.

Michelle Lyman topped Holy Ghost/St. James with 14 points.

St. Mary's 58, St. Matthew 25

Martha Amoretti had a game high of 16 points for St. Mary's. Former Niagara-Wheatfield star Megan Hathaway chipped in 15 points and Rose Polk added 12 points.

LeAnne Gedraitis topped St. Matthew with 11 points.
