Nominations sought for Komen awards

The Western New York Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure is seeking nominations for the Hope, Faith and Love Awards, honoring individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the eradication of breast cancer. 

The Hope Award is given to a breast health or breast cancer professional that works toward improving the lives of breast cancer survivors or conducts research to find the cures.

The Faith Award is given to a breast cancer survivor who advocates in the community for support, screening or treatment and works to empower all women.

The Love Award is given to a volunteer who works tirelessly to advance our "promise" and inspires others to do the same.

One winner will be selected in each category, and nominees must live or work in one of the eight counties of Western New York (Erie, Niagara, Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, Orleans, Genesee, Wyoming, and Allegany.)

Community members are invited to download an award nomination form at the Komen Western New York Affiliate website at www.komenwny.org. (Go to: Get Involved/ Komen Activities/Special Events).

All nomination forms must be postmarked on or before April 9, in order to be considered.

Awards will be presented at the 10th annual Susan G. Komen for the Cure Survivor Luncheon on Saturday, May 7, at the Buffalo Niagara Convention Center.
