Mavis Staples performs with gospel group Committed at NAACP Image Awards

Legendary gospel singer Mavis Staples will perform with the award-winning a cappella group Committed at the 42nd NAACP Image Awards, broadcast live from Los Angeles' historic Shrine Auditorium, Friday, March 4 (8 p.m. ET live/PT tape-delayed) on FOX. Christian R&B vocalist Deitrick Haddon and contemporary jazz instrumentalist Boney James are also set to perform at the annual awards show.

In addition, actress Angela Bassett, NAACP Chairwoman Roslyn M. Brock, actress Loretta Devine, singer Jason Derülo, actress/singer Kat Graham, actor Dulé Hill, actor Anthony Mackie, Judge Greg Mathis, actresses Tia and Tamera Mowry, actress Sandra Oh, comedian Russell Peters and actress Anika Noni Rose are scheduled to appear, along with previously announced participants Halle Berry, LL Cool J, Affion Crockett, Kimberly Elise, Kerry Washington and Vanessa Williams.

Hosted by Wayne Brady and Holly Robinson Peete, and executive-produced by Vicangelo Bulluck, the special celebrates the accomplishments of people of color working in literature, music, television and film. Previously announced honorees include Chairman's Award recipient Surgeon General Regina M. Benjamin and President's Award recipient Gen. Colin L. Powell.
