Mount St. Mary's Hospital presents health education programs

Mount St. Mary's Hospital will present a range of programs in March as part of its "Health For All Seasons" health education program and event series.

•On March 1, 2 and 3, "Taking Charge of Your Diabetes" will be presented by Debra Hoffman, a certified diabetes educator. This series of three sessions will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. in Room 249 of the main hospital building.

•On Thursday, March 3, at 6 p.m., the Mount St. Mary's Center for Sports Medicine and Physical Rehabilitation will present "Exercising With Arthritis" as part of the Lewiston-Porter School District's Community Education Program. The session will be held at the Primary Education Center. It's presented by Lindsey Schultz and Heather Fiacco.

The class will consist of a 30-minute educational session on arthritis and how it affects the body, followed by instruction and participation in an exercise program to continue with at home.

•March 15-17, "Taking Charge of Your Diabetes" will be presented by Hoffman. This series of three sessions will take place from 1 to 4 p.m. in Room 249 of the main hospital building.

•On Tuesday, March 22, "Health for All Seasons" will present "Insomnia Due to Pain." Dr. Kenneth Murray, director of sleep medicine at Mount St. Mary's, will conduct the presentation. It will be held at 6:30 p.m. in Room 249 of the main hospital building.
