NU Theatre presents 'Songs I Wish I Were Cast To Sing' cabaret

Niagara University Theatre's 2010-11 season offers an exciting array of entertainment options to suit a variety of tastes. For those who enjoy Broadway show tunes, a special limited engagement cabaret is being featured this fall.

To benefit the theater program, on Friday, Nov. 12, and Saturday, Nov. 13, at 7:30 p.m., the Friends of Niagara University Theatre will present a benefit cabaret production, "Songs I Wish I Were Cast To Sing," with Broadway veteran Michele Ragusa, '87 ("Young Frankenstein," "Titanic," "Adrift in Macao"), and nine other multi-talented Niagara University theater studies alumni: David Autovino, '03; Peter Bennett, '03; Nicholas Cocchetto, '09; Paschal Frisina III, '00; Adriano Gatto, '06; Kristin Nixon Frisina, '02; Alison Nusbaum, '03; Carol Flanagan Propp, '87; and Paul Todaro, '87.

Musical direction will be provided by Donald Shrimpton, musical director of the Niagara Fine Arts Program and the Lewiston Choraleers.

The cast of the cabaret will perform popular songs from a variety of musicals such as "West Side Story," "Funny Girl," and "Sweeney Todd," to name a few.

The show will take place inside the newly renovated William P. and Marie Leary Theatre within the new  Elizabeth Ann Clune Center for Theatre in Clet Hall.
