Aiyana Printup, age 9 months, was named the winner of the baby contest for girls ages 0-1 at the Tuscarora Nation Picnic on July 10.
Aiyana, shown with her mother, Nicole, is a member of the Tuscarora Nation, Bear Clan. Her mom made a traditional outfit for her, crafted in traditional raised beadwork.
"There is a bear on the back of her collar, which represents her clan, as well as bears in the center of the flowers. The outfit is made with shades of purple, pink and green," says Nicole.
