Due to inclement weather, the management of Ransomville Speedway was forced to pull the plug on the July 9 racing program. Rain began at approximately 9 a.m. last Friday morning and continued on and off throughout the day. While wishing to never suffer a cancellation, Ransomville Speedway officials decided it was in the best interest of all to call it a day at 2 p.m.

They report the Friday, July 16, program is expected to feature a full card. By popular demand, the Harold Rinehart Poster Contest and kids rides have been rescheduled for Friday in addition to the Bobcat of Buffalo Firehall Enduro Series. Joining the already scheduled Mighty Taco Modifieds, Original Pizza Logs Sportsman, Ki-Po Chevrolet Streetstocks, and a SS Mechanics Race, the night is sure to be full of entertainment for all. Gates will open at 5 p.m. in the pit area and 6 p.m. in the grandstand with racing slated for 7:30 p.m. The first 200 kids 15 years of age and under will receive a ride in a racecar, beginning at 7 p.m.

Looking ahead - Friday, July 30 is a must-attend show as the Ryan Newman No. 39 show car will be on display at the Big R. In addition to the show car, Big R sponsor Tornado's will be sampling products on the grandstand side as they introduce their product to fans.

On Friday, Aug. 6, Big R will hold its $10,000 to win for the 358 Modifieds as the Alex Friesen Summer Nationals takes center stage. See Brett Hearn, Danny Johnson, Stewart Friesen and more as they invade Western New York looking for a five-figure payday. Gates open at 4:30 p.m. with time trials slated for 7 p.m.
