Winter snows hit Niagara

Following weeks of mild, snow-fee weather, winter hit northern Niagara County with a vengeance over the past week with up to three feet of snow reported in many areas from a combination of storm systems. In the photos, heavy snows made picturesque scenes in the Village of Lewiston. Thanks in part to the dedicated efforts of hard-working highway department crews, schools in Lewiston-Porter remained open throughout the week. (photos by Terry Duffy)
