Community Bible wins Lutheran Basketball title

Steve Becker scored 19 points as Community Bible won the Lutheran Basketball Association men’s championship over First Trinity, 62 61.

Community Bible beat St. Paul 68-56 in the fourth round to advance to the title game.

Mike Gibbons had 14 points and Tom Bradley added 13 points in the championship game victory.

David Hoffman topped First Trinity with 25 points. Tim Passage and Andrew Passage had 14 points each in a losing cause.

Community Bible’s championship team includes Brad Delp, Dean Davis, Mike Gibbons, Ken Martin, Josh Coney, Steve Becker and Tom Bradley.

Becker scored a game-high 35 points as Community Bible defeated St. Paul in their lead-up to the title game. Tom Bradley added 14 points in the victory. Bryan WoIf led St. Paul with 15 points in defeat.

St. Matthew 61
St. Paul 60

Dan Smith scored 28 points as St. Matthew defeated St. Paul. Ryan Essenburg added 19 points for the victors. Shawn Reimer topped St. Paul with 20 points. Chris Reimer added 17 points and Brandon Wurl had 10 points in a losing caus

First Trinity 69
St. James 59

Tim Passage scored 18 points as First Trinity earned a spot in the title game. David Hoffman and Eric Opferbeck added 14 points each.

Andrew Passage netted in 13 points and Tim Stone had 10 points in the victory. Bill Milleville and his brother Brian Milleville topped St. James with 12 points each in the loss.
