Lutheran Schools Week celebrated at St. Peter’s Lewiston Porter Sentinel, March 8, 2008
Students and faculty at St. Peter Lutheran School in Cambria celebrated Lutheran School Week March 3-7. The institution, which was founded in 1948, today serves approximately 50 children in grades kindergarten through eight. Students primarily come from Wilson, Newfane, Lewiston and Lockport. Pictured above, TJ Balbuzoski, Denise Zappy, Maggie Peters, Lucy Ebbole, Alexander Martinez and Joel Hare pose as a character in their favorite book. Throughout Lutheran Schools Week, the children and teachers dressed up in different outfits to celebrate the blessing their school is for them. Below, Zappy, Stacey McKie and Terry Cassick pose as teacups in the talent show, which was one of the highlights of the Lutheran Schools Week celebration. St. Peter’s pastor is currently deployed on active duty in the Army, serving as a chaplain in the 101st Calvary. Vicar Matt Sorenson is currently serving the congregation.
