Kathleen Murphy, social worker for the Niagara Falls Family Services Office, spoke at all the masses at St. Stephen R.C. Church recently about the upcoming Catholic Charities Drive.

Murphy said that many people need the help of Catholic Charities and, last year, more than 160,000 received assistance, including 14,000 from Niagara County and some from Grand Island.

Murphy said all gifts, no matter how small, are important, quoting Mother Teresa: “We cannot do great things, only small things with love.” The 2008 Appeal runs from March 9 to 16, and the goal is $11.2 million. Contributions can be made at weekend services or by contacting the St. Stephen Rectory at 773-7647.
