L-P basketball loses swagger

Last Friday night, the Lancers took on the Niagara-Wheatfield Falcons on the road in a should-win game. Coming in, the Falcons only had one win and were struggling, but they would prevail in this one 68-55.

Robby Seyler led the way for the green and white again with 25 points. Junior James Butera had a strong showing inside with 10 points and 8 rebounds as well. Seniors Zach Eoute, Brad Maines and Garret Ventry gave their usual strong contributions as well, but it wasn’t enough after the Falcons had a strong run in the beginning and managed to hang on

Back in Lewiston the Lancer faithful are left scratching their heads. What happened to this team? The strong showing in the beginning and a few upsets really had the school thinking they would go far, but recently they’ve shown nothing special. They need to step it up big time and get some wins. Ever since the Kenmore East upset, this team has gone on a steady downfall. Their current record stands at 7-5 with a 2-5 record in Niagara Frontier League play.

Positives from the game include much better rebounding for the Lancers. A lot of players inside have begun to step it up and get rebounds. Despite this bad run there is light at the end of the tunnel; this team has talent and it’s there; we all know it. They just need to put it back together again. We’ll see if some leadership can come along and motivate this team back to their swagger again.
