Speedway Lewiston Porter Sentinel, January 19, 2008 Ransomville Speedway management has been busy preparing for the upcoming race season. A three-star program of 358 Mighty Taco Modifieds, Original Pizza Logs Sportsman and Johnston’s Restaurant Streetstocks will fill the weekly racing card, while the Bobcat of Buffalo Firehall Enduro will make half a dozen appearances. Highlighting the season schedule will be the Advance Auto Parts Big Block Modified DIRTcar Series, sponsored by CWM Chemical Services of Porter. This year’s event will take place on Thursday, July 3, and will kick off three days of racing at the Big R. On Friday, July 4, a 50-lap Streetstock Mid-Season Championship will take center stage with a 4/6 Cylinder Enduro and the Bobcat of Buffalo Firehall Enduro filling the racing card. On Saturday, July 5, the first- ever Niagara Cup Go-Kart Nationals is slated, featuring a $1,000 purse to win 50-lap stock medium main. The Alex Friesen Summer Nationals will incorporate the biggest change, as it has been moved from the traditional Tuesday to Friday, Aug. 1, and will once again be part of the DIRTcar 358 Modified SDS Tour. Sponsored by Hard Copy Wholesale, the 68-lap, $6,800 to win, event will attract a who’s who of small block modified dirt racing. The Patriot Sprints will make a stop on Friday, June 27. National Maintenance Contracting Corporation will present the Lucas Oil Modified Shootout 50 on Friday, May 23. Ransomville Speedway will host the first Mark Cerrone Memorial event on Friday, July 18, and it will be a Lucas Oil Modified Shoot-out event. |
