Christmas comes to village

Lewiston Porter Sentinel, December 8, 2007

The 40th annual Lewiston Christmas Walk, now known as Christmas in the Village, was celebrated last weekend along Center Street. Residents and visitors enjoyed holiday horse-drawn carriage rides, a seven-foot ice bar, seasonal refreshments at eateries and sales at retail stores. In addition, view mobiles escorted dozens of people back and forth from the Lewiston Historical Association Tour of Homes. The event was highlighted by the arrival of Santa Claus, who arrived in Academy Park via Rudolph the Red Nosed Helicopter. Pictured above is the view down Center Street as the crowd followed the carriage carrying Santa to Terry Collesano’s Old Time Barber Shop. There, St. Nick (below) – who looked a lot like Trustee Ron Winkley – greeted children of all ages. (photos by Larry Austin)
