Boasting the high visibility of strong vocals, music and a commitment to the accurate reproduction of the Beatles, this is the band to see if you want to know what it might have been like had the Beatles toured today.”

SIRSY and Innocent Bystanders
Feb. 29, 2008

SIRSY

Heuer says, “This show combines two of the best up-and-coming bands on one bill.”

The charismatic Melanie Krahmer fronts SIRSY. She is described as having, “a stunning voice capable of a lion’s roar and a floaty whisper. She plays Ian Anderson-esque flute solos and drums like a rock star, standing up.”

Sharing the stage is co-writer, Rich Libutti, a dynamo on both guitar and bass.

The band has shared the stage with Cheap Trick, Maroon 5, Lifehouse and Blues Traveler.

The band, likewise, is up-and-coming, and hails from Buffalo. The threesome recently signed with Amherst Records. Their first single, “Under Wraps,” has received extensive airplay on radio stations across the U.S.

Aqueous and Treatment Nine
March 7, 2008

This show features two popular local bands, both of which have made quite a name for themselves in the Buffalo music scene.

North Tonawanda’s Aqueous won NU’s 2007 High School Rock Band Showcase. Throughout its two years together, the band has undergone great transformations. Aqueous began by learning tons of covers from favorite bands like Pink Floyd, Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughan. With time, the band’s style began to change from straight rock to a more contemporary jam style.

The Rivalry plus A Thousand Shades of Cold
March 28, 2008

Long Island’s The Rivalry returns to Niagara to headline a night of rock music. The band is described as “A dual-guitar/bass/drum assault of angular riffs and abrupt rhythmic shifts that burst into skyscraping choruses. They’re loud, they’re aggressive, but they’re also melodic and dynamic; their music is visceral and passionate, but also sensitive and honest. Their sound is the natural confluence of each members diverse interests and tastes, and it’s that continuous internal conflict that fuels The Rivalry.”

A Thousand Shades of Cold is from Rochester. The group is a hard rock band with a metal edge forged around a melodic core. Strong vocals in the forefront and a wall of heavy music reinforce every note.

Formed in late 2004, and picked up by Amherst Records at the beginning of 2006, the band released its first, full-length album in the summer of 2006. It was recorded at It’ll Do Studios in Niagara Falls.

The band prides its self on its energetic and intense live show and now ventures to spread its music to the world (members have the ambition to achieve nothing less.)
