Grumpkins coming to The Summit Niagara Wheatfield Tribune, October 11, 2007 A pumpkin weighing 1,200-plus pounds and measuring more than 167 inches in circumference will be at The Summit mall starting Thursday, Oct. 18. Turning it from a gigantic garden fruit into a character of its own will be Patrick Moser, also known as Grumpkins. Grumpkins (www.grumpkins.com) is called the world’s premiere pumpkin artist, having carved pumpkins from North America to Hong Kong. Moser will be working through mall hours for the four-day event. Sponsored by The Summit mall and the Spirit of Niagara Tours, Moser will carve and share his artistic secrets with people who gather in the center court of the building at the Food Court. This will be Grumpkins’ only area presentation during the Halloween season. “The Summit is recognized for fun and family-oriented Halloween events, and this is an exciting opportunity to watch a true master at work,” said Peter Green, director of Spirit of Niagara Tours. Grumpkins will work during mall hours from Oct. 18 to 21. The mall, located on Williams Road in Wheatfield, is open 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., except Sundays when it is open 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. |
