Sanger Tuck announces candidacy for Porter Town Council Lewiston Porter Sentinel, September 29, 2007 Sandy Sanger Tuck, proprietor of Sanger Farms on Route 93 in Youngstown, has announced her candidacy for the Porter Town Council. “My family has farmed here for six generations,” she says, adding, “and it’s a privilege to live and work in God’s country.” Tuck will appear on both the Democratic and Positive Change ballot lines on Nov. 6. Also running for Town Council is the Porter Democratic Chair, William Choboy (Sentinel, Sept. 22). “Bill and I are of different generations but we have the same concerns for our township,” says Tuck. “As a farmer, I’m concerned about the well-being and sustainability of our agricultural land. As a small business owner, I believe town government can be more attuned and responsive to our needs. “As a parent, I’m concerned about environmental issues, which will have consequences for my children and future generations. As a citizen and taxpayer, I have watched a steady drift towards one-party rule. We need more voices, more points of view and more participation from a variety of citizens.” Tuck is a graduate of both Lewiston-Porter High School and Niagara County Community College, with a degree in retail business. She and her husband, Michael, have five children: Carly, Shari, Rogan, Claitan and Lisa -- the eldest -- who has just completed her service with the U.S. Marine Corps and lives in New York City with her husband, Jason, and daughter, Edynn. “I’ve made a lifetime commitment to the Sanger farm and to raising my family in the Town of Porter,” she says. “I look forward to serving on the Town Council and making a positive difference.” |
