Printup-Harms named director

The Western New York Independent Living Project announced this week that Niagara County resident Cynthia Printup-Harms, a member of the Tuscarora Nation, has been named the new director of its Native American Living Services.

Printup-Harms, also known as “Sam,” previously served as a NAILS specialist employee for the Independent Living project.

She earned an undergraduate degree in design and a minor in art therapy from Buffalo State College and completed her Masters of Education in School Counseling from Niagara University. Previously, Printup-Harms was employed by the Niagara Community Action Program, where she served as a referral counselor in the agency’s Child Care, Resource and Referral Department.

The WNY ILP’s family of agencies includes the Independent Living Center, NAILS, Aztech, the Mental Health Peer Connection, and the Rehabilitation Research and Training Center on Independent Living Management.
