Moran to celebrate 50 years as a priest

Monsignor J. Thomas Moran, pastor of St. Bernard’s R.C. Church in Youngstown is celebrating his golden anniversary of his ordination to the priesthood this year.

A committee, formed from various parish organizations, is organizing a parish celebration for Saturday, Oct. 20.

On that day, Moran will celebrate a Mass of thanksgiving at 1 p.m. at St. Bernard’s. The Mass will be televised to the parish hall for any overflow crowd. A private banquet will follow the Mass at Our Lady of Fatima Shrine. A public reception with coffee and cake will begin at 6 p.m. at the shrine’s Pilgrim Center, 1023 Swann Road, Lewiston.

Moran has requested that there be no monetary or material gifts. If desired, donations may be made in his honor to Our Lady of Fatima Shrine’s Renovation Project or Heart and Soul in Niagara Falls.
