Herman to seek Town of Niagara seat Niagara Wheatfield Tribune, August 30, 2007 Robert E. Herman Sr. has announced his election bid for the Town of Niagara Town Council. Herman, a Democrat, said his platform is simple – cost effective government. The town should operate proactively on issues that will directly and financially affect all of its residents and make sound decisions that apply to the type of community we live in, he said. “My focus is lowering taxes, insuring quality services and building on a solid foundation that has been put in place, and to be part of future leadership, which will keep our town heading in the right direction,” he said. Herman has been a resident of the town for more than 28 years. He and his wife, Brenda (Young), have been married 30 years and have four sons, Michael, Jason, Bobby and Tyler. He is employed by General Motors at the Tonawanda Power Train Plant on River Road. A production team leader, he also works for the UAW on Appendix L Outsourcing, which encompasses the retaining of UAW jobs. He deals with many areas of finance, competitive costing and issues that identify the true cost to manufacture. Herman has been endorsed on the Democratic, Working Families, Republican, Independent and Conservative lines. He also has been endorsed by the Community Action Council of Western New York. |
