Italian Festival continues this weekend Lewiston Porter Sentinel, July 14, 2007
Something happens when Filippo’s Ristorante Italiano combines rice, peas, breading and sauce. “Let me tell you it’s unbelievable,” owner Filippo Inglima says, “The rice ball is a hit.” After serving 3,500 deep fried treats at the “Taste of Buffalo,” Inglima expects to sell just as many during this weekend’s Italian Festival on Hertel Avenue in Buffalo (pictured above on Thursday). “We introduced it to the people in Buffalo – they’re going nuts!” he says. The restaurant, which recently underwent some interior renovation, will also be serving fried calamari, stuffed hot banana peppers, tripe, penne vodka and sausage and pepper sandwiches to the anticipated crowd of 500,000.
