GI team wins title, moves on to Fredonia

The 12-and-under Grand Island All-Stars won the Little League New York District 1 softball championship Monday at Veteran’s Park with a 13-3 win over Orchard Park. The Grand Island 12-and-under All-Stars won the Little League New York District 1 softball championship Monday at Veteran’s Park with a 13-3 win over Orchard Park.

The game ended after four innings by mercy rule. GI has won all its play-off games by the 10-run rule. GI also has wins over Lockport, 24-2, and Lake Shore, 14-2, in the playoffs.

GI will next play in the sectional tournament at Fredonia.
