The Summit opened Spirit of Niagara Tours on Friday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and reception.

Jim Anthony, owner of the Williams Road mall in Wheatfield, flew in from North Carolina, where he works, to host the event. Peter Green, marketing and events coordinator at The Summit, served as emcee.

Among those in attendance were Wheatfield Supervisor Timothy Demler, Niagara County Legislature William Ross, and a group of about two dozen on-lookers.

Ross called Anthony a man of his word, and praised the real estate developer for his commitment to Niagara County – especially in light of his business being 700 miles away.

Following the ribbon-cutting, a reception was held for business leaders and pastors. Christian musician Rebecca St. James, who performed Friday night at Artpark, joined the crowd for lunch, which was catered by mall vendors.

The 8,400-square-feet welcome center offers tours of the Niagara Falls region.
