Honoring Old Glory

For Flag Day, the American Legion paid tribute to Old Glory in two ceremonies. Above Legion members gathered with village officials Tuesday for a donation of 80 U.S. flags to the Village of Lewiston, which will adorn various locations in the village. Shown in the photo (left to right) are Thomas May, Art Cline, Village Mayor Richard Soluri, Lewiston Police Chief Ron Winkley, and Frank Sermak. Below, 6th graders from Lewiston-Porter Middle School participate in a flag burning ceremony in front of the school on Thursday with American Legion members in recognition of Flag Day.
