Hatfield announces candidacy for Lewiston Town Clerk Lewiston Porter Sentinel, June 16, 2007
Kristine Hatfield of Lewiston has announced her candidacy for Lewiston Town Clerk. Both the Independence Party and the Republican Party have endorsed her candidacy. Hatfield is a registered Independent, and serves the Independence Party as a committee person. Hatfield, 33, is the mother of three children who attend the Lewiston-Porter School District and has been married to Robert J. Hatfield for 13 years. She works as an independent marketing consultant, helping businesses grow throughout Western New York. In addition, she helps manage her husband’s business, Hatfield Painting Ltd., which is based in Lewiston. “My goal is to make Town Hall more user friendly, with a focus on convenience for the taxpayer,” said Hatfield. “For example, I would add more flexible hours at least a couple of nights per week so that people who are at work during regular business hours can do business at Town Hall.” Hatfield also indicated a willingness to evaluate fee structures, the various processes in the Town Clerk’s Office, as well as the overall environment in Town Hall. “After all, we work for the people of Lewiston. We have an obligation to do our work efficiently, and to provide a friendly atmosphere in which people can conduct their business,” she added. Hatfield is a graduate of Lewiston-Porter High School and later attended Niagara County Community College. She has coached the Lewiston-Porter Community Cheerleading Stars Division. She also volunteers her time for the Lewiston-Porter wrestling team and dedicates as much time as she can to various functions at the elementary schools attended by her children. Lewiston Town Councilman Al Bax has agreed to serve Hatfield’s campaign as her honorary chairman. “There is no question that Kristine Hatfield will serve our town well as its clerk,” said Bax. “Her professionalism and genuine care and concern for people will be a tremendous asset to the people of Lewiston.” |
