School year winds down at Kaegebein

The end of the school year brings more than just fi nals for students at Kaegebein Elementary. Above, members of Mrs. Latona’s fifth grade class participate in Flag Day ceremonies outside the school last week, where special recognition was paid to the soldiers of ODA 396, C Co. 3rd Battalion, 3rd Special Forces Airborne group, stationed at Firebase Gardez, Paktia Province, Afghanistan. Its members donated a large U.S. fl ag, which had previously fl own at their base in Afghanistan and now adorns the flagpole outside the Love Road school. At right, it’s hot dogs, hamburgs and all the fi xin’s, as members of Mrs. Kupiec’s second grade Class of 2007 gather for a tasty lunch at a special class picnic outside on the school grounds.
