Grand Island athletes support community

When an extra order of baseball hoodies was delivered due to a printing error, Grand Island’s modified baseball team decided to support a local charity by selling the sweatshirts to teachers and parents. The boys elected to donate these proceeds to the GI Neighbors Foundation. In total, $165 was donated in a check presentation ceremony held June 13 at Veronica Connor Middle School. On hand for the presentation were, from left, team members Brian Brink and Jon McGinty, Linda Tufillaro of the Neighbors Foundation, and baseball coach Bill Brodie.
