Artpark season begins in southern style

Molly Hatchet (above) and Blackfoot performed this week at Artpark, kicking off the this summer’s “Tuesday in the Park” concert series.

Despite temperatures in the high 50s and low 60s, more than 2,000 people attended the free event.

Next week, Artpark has a full slate of performers coming into Lewiston. On Tuesday, Blue Rodeo, a Toronto-based country-rock band takes the outdoor stage. On Friday, Christian music superstar Rebecca St. James performs inside the amphitheatre (see related story). Then, on Saturday, Canada’s own Barenaked Ladies performs as part of the WNED Buffalo Niagara Guitar Festival.
