Bova, Schaffer honored with Hewitt Award

Michele Schaffer of Niagara-Wheatfield and Brandon Bova of Starpoint were the winners of $2,000 scholarships at the Tom Hewitt Sports Awards Dinner of the Board of Associates of Mount St. Mary’s Hospital. The awards were presented at a dinner on Sunday, May 6, at Niagara County Community College and attended by more than 200 people. Buffalo Bills Offensive Line Coach James McNally was the guest speaker. The winners were selected from nominees of top male and female scholar athletes from nine local high schools. Each of the nominees received a $100 stipend.
