Bevaqua wins dance scholarship

The Lewiston Dance Center, 781 Cayuga St., has announced that Lauren Bevaqua of Lewiston won a scholarship for the 2006-07 dance year.

Bevaqua is 15 years old and has been dancing at Lewiston Dance for 11 years. She takes tap, ballet and jazz. This is her second year as a teaching assistant at the studio. She is a sophomore at Lewiston-Porter High School and is on the high honor roll and the track and volleyball teams. She also plays the violin with a string quartet.

“Lewiston Dance is very proud of Lauren and wishes her a successful dance year,” the staff said. Bevaqua will be dancing in several numbers at the recital “Dancin’ 2007,” which will take place on Friday, June 8, at 7 p.m. at Niagara Falls High School.
