Easter display at the Greinert home

Niagara Wheatfield Tribune, April 5, 2007

A holiday tradition at 6962 Errick Road in Wheatfield continues. Started by the late Wheatfield Town Supervisor Ed Greinert for his grandchildren, outdoor Easter displays continue on by Greinert’s son, Paul, at the Greinert homestead. Paul Greinert works to complete the display, as his father did, in time for the schoolchildren before Easter holiday break. School buses slow down so that the children can peer out the windows to see the cross and bunnies. The Greinerts report that they receive many calls and cards of thanks for the effort they’ve put into their holiday displays. They request that people remain in their cars to view the display due to the extensive wiring. The display lights up at night for about two hours. This year’s display includes a marching bunny procession, complete with a flag. The display also includes: a bunny riding a bike, eggs and carrots in the trees, a maypole with boy and girl bunnies, hundreds of flowers popping up from the grass, a beautiful hand-made lily cross and two large angels with lambs at the foot of the cross.
