The Grand Island Zonta Club hosted a regional
women’s health workshop last weekend at the Buffalo Launch Club.
The theme was “Body, Mind and Zonta Spirit – Phenomenal Women.” Topics
included, “Your Heart Health,” presented by Kelly Fitzgerald, director
of Cardiac Rehab at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center; “Spine
and Back Pain Prevention,” presented by Terry Rose, director of physical
therapy at NFMMC; “Breast Cancer – What You Really Need to Know and
Do,” by Patricia Beecher, R.N., of the American Cancer Society; “Advocacy:
What it Means and How to Use it,” by Zonta Awareness and Advocacy
Committee Co-Chair Connie Deckert; and a makeup demonstration by
Mary Margaret Conley of the Lockport Zonta Club. (photos by Karen
