Flamingo Flock ready to take flight Grand Island Dispatch, April 20, 2007
The Relay For Life Team “Lifesavers” is once again preparing the notorious Flamingo Flock. The team will begin releasing the Flock the weekend of April 28. For a $25 donation, you can have the Flock released on somebody’s front yard. Worried the Flock might visit your house? For a $25 donation, you can purchase Flock Insurance to make sure they don’t show up unannounced in your front yard. The first landing is expected to be at Bonnie Sciuk’s Brite Ideas business, at 1966 Whitehaven Road. She’s enthusiastic about helping the cause by hosting the Flock. If you are willing to donate and participate, contact 774-4649 and leave your name and the name and address of the person you would like the Flock to visit. Checks should be made payable to the American Cancer Society and can be dropped off at Town Hall or mailed to Gary Roesch, 4068 East River Road, Grand Island, NY 14072. Team members, through their “Flamingo Flock Flyer,” thank all who are taking part and “sincerely hope that our birds did not leave any unwanted surprises on your lawn!” The Lifesavers are also sponsoring a chicken barbecue at the Town Hall Commons on May 19 from 2-7 p.m. Tickets are $8 and are available at Town Hall or by calling 773-5305. Come out for food and entertainment and show your support for Relay For Life. |
