Home and Garden Show held at The Summit Niagara Wheatfield Tribune, February 22, 2006
The Niagara County Business Association held its annual Home and Garden Show from Feb. 16-18 at The Summit. The show has been a tradition for over 20 years and offers vendors the opportunity to meet prospective customers interested in home improvement. Steve Ruest of Rainbow Awning Co. Inc. was one of many vendors exhibiting at The Summit. Ruest said the payoff for appearing at the show will come soon, when awning window shoppers become awning buyers. “We can only give you the definitive answer weeks from now when we chase down all the leads,” Ruest said of how successful the show was for his business.
Likewise, Patrick Fuller and Wendy Fazzolari, owner of Solid Ground Concrete, said the show has been good for developing sales contacts for their business. Their display at the show included a patio of stamped concrete. “We’ve had a few customers that might make it all worthwhile,” Fazzolari said. “The people who have stopped have been quality leads.” Jeff Sisco, vice president and owner of A2Z, pictured with manager Roy Howard (left), looked forward to the show in his hometown of Wheatfield. He supports both the NCBA and the mall, he said. One aspect of Sisco’s business includes rental of supplies to do-it-yourselfers for construction projects. His display was a what’s what of supplies and tools of the trade. Most recently, during the October storm, A2Z provided rental of generators during the widespread power loss. “We feel we’ve got something for everybody,” Sisco said. Five people won $50 gift certificates at the show, good for use at The Summit: B. Brownea of East Amherst, A. Wojcik of Tonawanda, O’Shea of Youngstown, B. Cliffe of Niagara Falls, and S. Whited of North Tonawanda.
