Snow Sculpture Contest

Grand Island Dispatch, February 23, 2007

The town Parks and Recreation Department held its fi rst-ever Snow Sculpture Contest under bright, sunny skies on Tuesday. Youngsters enjoyed getting creative with the white stuff – even spray-painting vivid colors onto the snow and placing decorations on their sculptures for special effects. The town provided decorations, refreshments and prizes to honor the snow artists’ work. Below, Jane and “Cappy” Cooke work on the fi nishing touches. (photo right and below by Laura Curcio)
